Through her constant efforts she has brought changes in the life of thousands of Underprivileged People of “Halpati” (ST) Community of Southern Gujarat.
We all have a little good in ourselves. Sometimes we just need a little push to put the good into action. An inspirational speech by a celebrity, a meeting with a role model or sometimes just small incidents in our routine lives may ignite the fire to bring a change.
Inspired by her father, Beena Rao is one such person who is changing the lives of thousands of slum children around her with her simple initiative.
Nelson Mandela had once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” And although primary education, in India, has been guaranteed for children, up to class VIII by the Right to Education Act, the deplorable conditions in many government schools has seldom done anything, to combat student drop-out rates, assist the ones performing poorly or even ensure that children in start coming to school in the first place. But in Surat, Gujarat, things are changing slowly, thanks to the constant effort and engagement of one Beena Rao. She is changing the lives of thousands of slum children around her with her simple initiative.

Through this initiative Beena Rao is bridging gaps and delivering standard class education to the neighbourhoods and slums in Surat, Gujrat.
We Identify the dwelling of “Halpati” (ST) Community which is mostly inside Slum Areas of Surat or in Villages nearby Surat.
We conduct a small survey identifying their problems (Level of Education, Employment, etc.).
Then we set up a Free coaching center there by appointing a teaching volunteer.
During this we make sure that we find someone qualified from that slum itself to teach kids daily from Monday to Saturday.
We also train our Teaching volunteers to make them capable for their task.
As these teachers are from slum, we provide them stipend monthly to encourage their noble work!
